Campus Book Discussion (2018): Hillbilly Elegy

Synopsis

Chapters five through eight delve further into the tapestry of Vance's life, and by extension, the life of his family. The role of religion in personal and communal terms is explored in relation to identity, as are elements of his mother's struggle with addiction, and how being impoverished affected his education.
