NonCredit Reading and Math 50 are designed to help students improve their Reading and Math ACCUPLACER scores. Students who make two unsuccessful attempts on the ACCUPLACER are referred to Adult Education for this tuition-free class. After successfully completing NCR or Math 50, students become eligible to retake the ACCUPLACER.

Students who score below a 229 on the Reading ACCUPLACER and/or below a 237 on the Writing ACCUPLACER are placed into NonCredit Reading. Students who score below a 237 on the Math ACCUPLACER are placed into Math 50.

After completing NonCredit Reading or Math 50, students must take the CASAS post-test before rescheduling the ACCUPLACER. Failure to complete this step will result in the student not being eligible to retake the ACCUPLACER. FCC requires that there be a pre- and post-test match for reporting purposes and to verify academic progress.
