National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) Resources

The NCTSN has resources to help parents and caregivers talk about the current situation with their children, including ways to support them and ways to support others who may be impacted. We also have resources for those who have loved ones who were killed or injured by the conflict, those who have a family member involved in the conflict and those who may be in danger. We also know that many families in the United States have roots in this region and are worried about their children's exposure to escalating verbal aggression, hate crimes, or threats at school or in their communities. The NCTSN has resources to help adults talk with children if they experience hate or verbal aggression and to explain why additional safety measures might be in place at religious institutions or schools. Finally, we recognize that many professionals who do this work are not only parents and caregivers but may also be personally impacted by these events. Check in with your colleagues, discuss ways to support them and provide them space to reflect on how these events have impacted them without judgement.
