The Ethics unit consists of two modules - Preventing Plagiarism and Why We Cite.
Preventing Plagiarism requires students to read FCC's academic integrity policy, respond to it, and affirm that they understand it. Why We Cite introduces students to the idea of scholarly conversation, as well as providing guidance on common knowledge, quotations, paraphrases, and summaries in their work.
Immersion units lay the groundwork for complex information literacy concepts such as the effective use of search syntax, models for evaluating sources, such as the CRAAP method, or how to meaningfully engage with academic content by way of note-taking and annotating.
